How to tell a story
Stories are everywhere. They accompany us at bedtime when we’re young, are shared over dinner with friends and relatives, and show our real selves in the workplace. They help us express ourselves, connect with others, make sense of the past and imagine the future. They unite us with those who love the same stories and motivate us to act for common causes. They teach, entertain and move us.
Yet, not all stories are equal. Nowadays, the need to stand out from the crowd and highlight our uniqueness is key, thus knowledge of storytelling principles and techniques is essential.
Which stories do we need in order to present our journey and our work in a compelling way? How do we talk about successes and failures? How can we present a business idea without a boring power-point? How can we improve our presentations and public speaking, while keeping the audience engaged? "How to Tell a Story" makes storytelling accessible to everyone.
It teaches us how to select and share the right stories to achieve our goals in business, research, civil society and the public sphere.
